An easy 2km ridge walk above the Lairig Ghru leads to the col below Ben Macdui and the start of a tough 500-metre climb, much of it over a rough boulder-field, to the 1,309-metre-high summit. The second highest summit in Scotland provides an amazing 360-degree panorama of the Cairngorm plateau, especially the views across the Lairig Ghru.
